For End of Life Doula Association Members Only (fundraiser)
Saturday, January 24th 2026
10am – 1pm PST
Learn about the role of ritual at end of life
Join Megan Sheldon, co-founder of Be Ceremonial, for this unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of ritual and ceremony at the end of life and throughout the grief journey. Megan is a cultural mythologist, humanist celebrant, and end-of-life doula who has created hundreds of ceremonies across the lifecycle, specializing in the seemingly invisible moments of change.
Who Should Join?
This workshop is for members of End of Life Doula Association (EOLDAC) who have taken an End of Life Doula training and are curious how to incorporate ritual into your practice. Whether you’re an emerging or established doula, this workshop will deepen your awareness about the role of ritual and ceremony in the end of life journey. It’s also an opportunity to gather as a community, strengthen our connections, and deepen our capacity for self care and community care.
What To Expect?
During this 3-hour interactive workshop, we’ll explore the essential elements of ceremony and ritual design at the end of life, while also examining themes of grief, loss, and burnout. We’ll look at both visible and invisible moments surrounding the end of life, as well as our own grief journey. You’ll discover the many opportunities to weave meaningful ceremony into these experiences; for yourself, your clients, and your communities of care.
What You'll Learn
You’ll learn practical frameworks for crafting and convening end-of-life ceremonies while deepening your own relationship with grief and loss rituals. This masterclass balances theory with hands-on practice, offering tools you can implement immediately in your doula work. You’ll leave with a deeper ritual toolkit, a connection to fellow members, and a renewed capacity to support yourself and others through life’s profound transitions.
An Overview

FAQs
Megan Sheldon is the co-founder and CEO of Be Ceremonial, the world’s first guided ritual and ceremony app. As a cultural mythologist with an MSc from the University of Edinburgh, humanist celebrant, and INELDA-trained end-of-life doula, Megan specializes in creating secular ceremonies for life’s profound transitions. She is also the author of the upcoming book, Ritual Without Religion: A Humanist Guide to Creating Secular Ceremonies.
Megan has personally facilitated hundreds of ceremonies across the lifecycle, and Be Ceremonial has been used to create thousands more worldwide. Her work focuses on what she calls the “seemingly invisible moments of change”; experiences like pregnancy loss, terminal diagnosis, organ transplantation, and death anniversaries that often lack ritual recognition in secular society.
Megan has trained over 5,000 students globally through workshops, courses, and coaching programs. Megan is passionate about democratizing ceremonial knowledge and empowering individuals to create meaningful rituals grounded in their own values and stories.
