Group Ceremony Coaching

We curate small group coaching experiences, guided by Megan Sheldon (ceremonial coach) and co-created by the participants in each cohort.

What is group coaching and why is it needed?

Small group coaching is a format where we bring together a limited number of participants who share similar goals, challenges, or interests when it comes to ritual design and ceremonial offerings. This approach combines elements of one-on-one coaching with the dynamics and benefits of group interaction. See FAQ for benefits and format.

Summer 2025 Group Coaching

What to Expect

There are three sessions in each cohort, and each session is 90min. There are up to 6 participants + 1 coach in each cohort. While each session is lightly guided by Megan, the group co-creates the experience by bringing challenges, opportunities, and requests to explore together. We will also connect in between sessions with email prompts, reflections and ritual inspiration.

When Is It Offered?

There are two summer cohorts coming up (each with 3 sessions)
Sundays 10am - 1130am PT: June 15th, July 20th, Aug 17th 2025
Wednesdays 4pm - 530pm PT: June 4th, July 2nd, Aug 6th 2025
*We encourage participants to only apply if you can make all three sessions

Ceremony & Ritual Workshops

What is the Format?

Each group coaching session takes place over Zoom. While each session follows a similar structure, there will be room to adapt based on the group's requests. We open each session with guided ritual, share wisdom and knowledge, invite 2 participants to present a ritual challenge or opportunity, and then close with a reflection ritual.

Community Ceremony

Who Should Apply?

Our group coaching experiences are designed for people who are currently (or hope to start soon) creating ceremonies or intentional gatherings for others. While you don't need to be a trained celebrant or ceremonialist, it will help the group dynamic if you have taken some training (such as our Ceremonial Training) so we can dive deeper into the themes and topics together.

Megan Sheldon

Megan Sheldon

Megan is a Humanist Celebrant, Cultural Mythologist, and End of Life Doula. She is also the co-founder of Be Ceremonial, the world's first self-guided ritual app. She's been crafting and convening ceremonies across the life cycle for years, with a focus on grief and loss. She has been offering ceremony coaching services for 5 years, supporting people all over the world as they imagine, create and perform ceremonies.

FAQs

Each coaching package includes three (3) 90min guided sessions with up to 6 participants + 1 coach. Typically these are done biweekly or monthly to allow time in between for reflection, preparation and ceremony planning. It also includes unlimited email support from Megan for the duration of the cohort.

We follow a Mastermind Model where each participant is invited to share a ceremony challenge where they can request support to envision, plan and perform a ceremony of their choosing.

Each session follows a similar outline:

~ Opening ritual

~ Introductions and/or shared learnings since our last session

~ Assigned participant presents a ceremonial challenge in a specific format (to be shared with the group ahead of time) The group then responds to the challenge with ideas, inspiration, storytelling and guided coaching support.

~ Group Reflection

~ Closing Ritual

We strongly encourage each participant to make each of the 3 sessions in their cohort as we co-create the community environment. Each participant will be assigned one of the sessions to present their ceremonial challenge, which we expect them to be present at. However, we recognize that life happens so each session will be recorded and made available to the group the following day. If you have to miss your presentation day, please give as much notice as possible and you may not be given another time to present, depending on the group.

Our group coaching is designed for people who are actively convening, hosting or curating experiences for others, whether it’s professionally or personally. This could include hospice volunteers, chaplains, celebrants, doulas, friends, neighbours or community builders. If you are drawn to creating ceremonies and rituals for others, this experience is for you.

Our group coaching experiences are co-created by the participants that enrol and led by expert ceremonialist Megan Sheldon, whose hourly rate is $125.

In order to make ceremonial coaching more accessible, we’re offering a sliding scale model where you can pick the tuition price point that feels best to you. Here are some guidelines to consider:

Subsidized Tuition: You would like to request financial support because you are facing financial instability or have faced systemic oppression or injustice.

Standard Tuition: You can pay the regular amount requested and are in a financially stable place, but cannot support someone else at this time.

Supporting Tuition: You are in strong financial position and would like to support someone else with a subsidized request.

Payments are non-refundable within 30 days of the first session. If you need to cancel outside of that window, you will be charged a 25% admin fee and refunded the rest. All sessions will be recorded so if you miss one, you can still watch it after.

We welcome participants from all over the world. We’re offering two cohorts this Summer, one weekday in the early evenings Pacific Time and one weekend in the late morning Pacific Time. Please choose the time that works for you depending where you are in the world. If the timing doesn’t work, we will be offering new cohorts in Fall 2025.
