Dive Deeper Into Ritual & Ceremony
Learning Workshop
Our 2 hour workshop is part teaching, part knowledge sharing, and part storytelling. Megan and Tenneson will lead a learning experience that explores the universal elements of ritual design and the role of masculinity in the ceremonial realm.
You’ll learn to recognize opportunities for ritual in everyday life ~ from morning reflections to transitions throughout your day, meaningful encounters to cultivating relationships. We’ll explore the role of ritual in the visible and invisible moments men often experience.
Men Only Gathering
Tenneson will guide an optional 2 hour gathering following the workshop (Megan will not be present). This is for any participants who would like to integrate their learnings and share their experiences post-workshop.
This gathering is designed to create and hold space for questions, reflections and shared learnings, helping participants integrate these ideas into daily practice. This gathering will not be recorded and is only open to those who attended or watched the recording of the workshop.
Who Should Join?
Our workshop + community gathering is designed for men, and those who identify as men. We welcome men of all ages and backgrounds seeking more intentional ways of marking the ordinary & extraordinary moments of life.
Whether you’re new to ritual or looking to deepen existing practices, this experience will offer you practical tools, empowering stories, and a supportive community to explore this topic with care and compassion. Megan will co-host the workshop but will not be at the gathering.

An Introduction
Megan and Tenneson met almost 15 years ago at The Art of Hosting training on Bowen Island. Since then, they have shared connection, wisdom and storytelling on the Seeking Ceremony blog, and on each other’s podcasts. You can watch our interview in the Be Ceremonial app and listen to our conversation on Tenneson’s podcast Human to Human.
Our Approach
Both Megan and Tenneson are trained in The Circle Way, a way of gathering with participants at the rim and the purpose in the centre. Our workshop + gathering will draw on the principles of circle, connecting us with ourselves, each other and the natural world. The rituals being offered are nature-based and descriptive not prescriptive. We are mindful of not appropriating from other cultures and we focus on the universality of rituals and ceremony.
Building Ritual Muscles
Rather than overwhelming you with complex ceremonial systems, we focus on simplicity and accessibility. We believe that ritual competence builds gradually, beginning with small, daily moments of intention and attention. Just as physical strength develops through consistent exercise, your capacity for meaningful ritual grows through regular practice. Your rituals become touchstones to ground your day in deeper meaning.
Investment
To make our teachings accessible, we’re offering a sliding scale approach that includes the 2-hour workshop on June 24th and an optional 2-hour community gathering on July 7th. Select the best option for you in the application form (and see FAQs for more information):

We begin with an opening ritual and acknowledgment of the land. We will share how this work has taken shape over the years, and offer an introduction to ritual design and ceremonial structure, including examples and stories to bring these teachings to life. We will create space for small group sharing and large group connection.
*While the workshop will be recorded, we ask that you do your best to join live with your video turned on.
Tenneson will lead this men’s only space to integrate the learnings and share reflections from the workshop. We will explore what it means to live ceremonially and acknowledge any challenges, stigmas or obstacles we have encountered. We will support one another and create opportunities for deeper connections.
*This gathering is optional to attend and will not be recorded. Please join with video turned on to facilitate the community experience.

FAQs
After years of creating spaces for people to live more intentionally, both Megan and Tenneson noticed a shift in how we gather as women and as men. We wanted to create a workshop centred around masculinity and why so many men approach us craving ritual tools and ceremonial guidance.
While the workshop will be co-hosted by Megan (a woman), sharing her wisdom and knowledge as a seasoned Ceremonialist, we also wanted to create a men’s-only space with the community gathering on July 7th to listen, share and learn from other men. Tenneson will hold this space, as he often does for his Men in Circle gatherings.
The workshop on Tuesday, June 24th will begin promptly at 4pm PT (7pm ET) and end at 6pm PT (9pm ET). We will alternate between teaching, sharing and connecting as a community. There will be a portion of the workshop dedicated to slide-based learning, exploring the basic concepts of ritual design, synthesizing these learnings as a community, and developing rituals based on the questions and requests from the group. While the workshop is recorded, we strongly encourage you to join live if possible.
The informal gathering takes place on Monday, July 7th from 4pm – 6pm PT (7pm – 9pm ET) and will be hosted by Tenneson Woolf only. It is optional to attend, designed for those wanting to share, explore and connect as a community of men. This gathering will not be recorded.
In order to make this workshop more accessible, we’re offering a sliding scale model where you can pick the tuition price point that feels best to you. Here are some guidelines to consider:
Supported by Community $40: You would like to request some support because you are facing financial instability or have faced systemic oppression or injustices.
Standard Tuition $60: You can pay the regular amount requested and are in a financially stable place, but cannot support someone else at this time.
Supporting Community $80: You are in strong financial position and would like to support someone else with a subsidized request.
Megan is based in Canada and Tenneson is based in the United States. Given the financial tensions between our two countries, we want to offer the option for those living in Canada to pay the same rate but in Canadian dollars. If you would like to request this, please include it in your application form.
Payments are non-refundable as you will have access to the recorded workshop if you miss it live. Prices are in USD but can be paid in CAD by Canadian residents if paid via email transfer. Please email megan@beceremonial.com to arrange Canadian payment.
