Join Megan and Ali as we explore rituals and ceremonies for organ transplantation, as well as the role of ritual in our health and healing journey, with a focus on chronic illness and body grief.
During the interview, we discuss the need for ritual when dealing with chronic illness and how we can acknowledge body grief in our healing journeys. Ali shares her pre-transplant and post-transplant ceremony stories, and we talk about how we need to shift the narratives surrounding ‘sick’ and ‘healthy’ so we can reclaim our relationship with ourselves.
In a world that often values productivity over presence, many of us have become disconnected from our bodies—especially those who have experienced chronic illness, surgery, or organ transplantation.
This conversation invites us to explore how intentional rituals can help us reconcile with body grief, honour our healing journeys, and cultivate renewed relationships with our ever-changing bodies.
