End-of-Life Doula Support

Compassionate, practical companionship for individuals and families approaching death ~ through planning, dying, and what comes after.

Candles burning during ceremony

Death is one of the few certainties we share, yet most of us arrive at it unprepared and unsure how to talk about it. As a trained end-of-life doula, Megan accompanies individuals, families and communities through this tender threshold ~ making space to talk openly about dying, helping put wishes and plans in order, and bringing ritual into the grief that comes before and after a loss.

This is not the same as hiring a celebrant. A celebrant is booked for a day. A doula walks alongside you across a series of conversations ~ in the planning, and in the months that follow.

Ways Megan can support you

Conversations

Death Cafes, family conversations, community gatherings, and one-to-one talks about mortality ~ for people who want to get comfortable with the subject before they are forced to be. Often the first time a family has said any of it out loud.

Planning

Advance care plans, representation agreements, and the documents that carry your wishes ~ alongside the funeral or ceremony you would want, your legacy projects, and the feelings that surface while you sort it all out.

Presence

Being there in the hours that matter. Support through a MAiD provision, bedside vigils, rituals for the room, and steadying for the people keeping watch ~ shaped entirely around what the person dying and their family want.

Walking Alongside

Ritual for the grief that arrives before a death and the grief that stays long after ~ anticipatory loss, death anniversaries, and the months when everyone else has moved on and you have not.

How it works

1 ~ Before

We begin with a conversation about where you are and what you are facing ~ a diagnosis, a plan you have been avoiding, or a loss you are carrying. There is no set curriculum. Megan shapes the work around what you actually need.

2 ~ During

We meet at a pace that suits you, virtually or in person on the North Shore. Megan brings the questions, the structure and the rituals; you bring your story. Family members are welcome in the room whenever it helps.

3 ~ After

You leave able to speak about death without flinching, clear on what you want and how to ask for it, with rituals to reach for when the next hard thing comes. What felt unapproachable becomes yours to face on your own terms.
