Be Ceremonial

Ritual Retreat for Care Providers

A weekend of self care and community care

The Brew Creek Centre, Whistler, BC

Spring 2024 ~ Dates TBD

The power of ritual and ceremony for care providers

This weekend retreat is designed for care providers who hold space for others, including doctors, nurses, doulas, midwives, funeral directors, counsellors, celebrants and healers. Together, we will learn about the importance of ceremony, be inspired to create our own rituals, and carve out time for self care and community care.  This weekend will nourish your mind, body and soul, leaving you feeling restored and replenished so that you can continue to do this important work.

Who is this for?

This retreat is ideal for those who work in grief-filled space, from birth to death. Whether you're a healthcare provider, a birth or death doula, a hospice volunteer, a funeral director, a celebrant, a counsellor, or a healer, we invite you to join us for a weekend of care and connection. This retreat will give you the opportunity to care for yourself and be taken care of by an intentional community.

Where is the retreat?

This three day retreat is at The Brew Creek Centre, 15min from Whistler and 1.5 hours from Vancouver, BC. The secluded sanctuary is located on a 20-acre private property ~ an oasis of rainforest, fresh water, and meandering contemplation paths. The rooms are luxurious and the food is thoughtfully prepared by a five star chef. The gathering space is designed to hold us as a community and the natural surroundings will inspire and nourish us.

What can I expect?

With a focus on avoiding burnout, we will learn about the importance of ceremony and ritual when it comes to our mental health & emotional wellbeing. There will be guided meditations, intentional workshops, creative projects, and rituals that connect us. The weekend will be framed as a ceremony, helping us release the past, find presence in the moment, and set intentions for what's to come.

Investment

The all-inclusive cost for the 3 day retreat is $1250 CAD for a shared suite and $1450 CAD for a private suite. We have a few scholarships to offer, if finances are challenging. The retreat includes two nights accommodation, six delicious vegetarian meals, workshop tools and supplies, and other treasures. This does not include travel to and from Brew Creek Centre. *See below for cancellation policy.

The Space

The Brew Creek Centre holds many unique spaces, including the main lodge and dining area, west coast modern cottages, a meditation hut, a green house, and 20 acres of forested property for our exclusive use and enjoyment. The grounds will inspire you with moments of awe and gratitude. We host our workshops in The Gathering, a breathtaking space with a vaulted post-and-beam ceiling, hushed acoustics and forest backdrop.

Nestled into the forest, Brew North offers 12 new loft-style double suites that have one ground level bedroom with a king-sized bed and one bedroom upstairs with a double bed. These rooms are perfect for groups that want shared accommodation with separate beds, allowing for privacy and luxury. There are also a limited number of private cottages available.

Nourishment

We'll have a phenomenal caterer on site, harvesting vegetables from the Brew Creek garden and green house and preparing our vegetarian meals. We can accommodate most dietary needs when given advanced notice. Meals include Friday dinner, Saturday all meals, and Sunday breakfast and lunch. There will be light snacks throughout the day.

Schedule of Events

We ask that everyone joining plan to arrive by 3pm on Friday, November 10th. We will begin our Opening Circle at 4pm, followed by dinner and rituals to release what we each need to let go of. We will spend Saturday in community workshops and in nature, expanding the role of ritual in our own lives. We will hold our closing ceremony on Sunday with plans to leave the grounds by 3pm.

Workshops & Offerings

We will have a few different facilitators offering workshops on self care, mindfulness and meditation, burnout and compassion fatigue, and art therapy.
